Duck a l'Orange
The delicious flavour combination of duck and orange are brought together in this dish. Duck legs are cooked until meltingly tender in a zesty orange sauce. Enjoy with freshly cooked rice.

Ingredients
Serves: 6
- 1 medium onion
- 1 orange, zest cut into thin strips
- 1 teaspoon cornflour
- 100ml water
- 2 oranges, juiced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil, divided
- 6 duck legs
- salt and pepper to taste
Method
Prep:10 min › Cook:1 hr › Ready in:1 hr 10 min
- Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a large pan over medium heat.
- Season duck with salt and pepper, then sear on all sides. Set aside.
- Saute onion in the same pan with 1 tablespoon oil until tender. Stir in cornflour and mix well.
- Transfer duck back to the pan. Pour over orange juice and water. Stir. Cover and simmer for 40 minutes or until very tender.
- Remove lid and let simmer for another 10 minutes or until sauce thickens. Pour sauce into a bowl and add a orange zest.
- Place duck on serving plate and garnish with a little sauce and orange zest. Serve hot with rice.

This recipe was so quick and easy. I did add a drop of Cointreau and my daughter loved it. I made it for one so divided quantities. - 28 Jan 2016
The duck breasts I used were a bit on the small side, but sauce was lovely. Definitely worth making again, but with more meat next time as it was so yummy.. - 10 Jul 2016
I made this for my husband who loves orange ..I had no duck so I used chicken breast and added a drop of Cointreau as suggested by Truffs it was gorgeus - 11 Mar 2017
